“ When I'm on my morning walk, or driving on a back road of Adams County, I think to myself, this is why I'm here, to share the beauty of life. ”
Bobbi Becker has always loved being creative. Even as a child, presents for her family were homemade cards, drawings, or paintings specially created just for them. The praise and encouragement gave Bobbi confidence, determination, and a dream.
A self-taught artist Bobbi began her professional career in 1982. Inspiration for her watercolor paintings is found in her woods, gardens, old books, glimpses on car rides, stories shared, childhood memories, and even her silly pets. To Bobbi "joy is everywhere". Most days there aren't enough hours in the day to paint all her ideas.
Where have you seen her work? Foxy Moxy Boutique in Gettysburg, a friend's house, Colonial Williamsburg's gift shops, the American Folk Art Museum gift shops, various other shops throughout the country, and private collections around the world.
Bobbi, her family, a beloved big dog and two sweet kitties live in a "new old" stone farmhouse and gallery in a secluded wooded area of beautiful Adams County, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Bobbi enjoys bargain hunting, running, kayaking, cycling, walks by the creek, the sky, the birds, the change of seasons, and being outside! To be an artist has been a lifelong dream for Bobbi Becker.
